The Stomach Flu: The Plague All Mothers Dread

As far as the stomach flu goes, this year has been one for the books.  I myself have gotten some sort of stomach bug FIVE times since the beginning of the year.  And by the way, isn't there supposed to be a rule that says that moms aren't supposed to get sick like that?  I mean, as if cleaning up throw up from our children isn't enough, (and we all know that can end up ANYWHERE), we get to go and be best friends with the bathroom for 24 hours, like we don't have more pressing matters in life to attend to.
Enjoying the snuggles and the erased plans.

I was up late last night, and then at 2:00 in the morning Theodore threw up all over his bed.  The roller coaster ride of endless loads of laundry, cleaning up bodily fluids and comforting little people had begun.  This morning by about 9:00 a.m. my tired mind began to slip into negative and disparaging thought patterns.  Nap time rolled around (hallelujah) and after lots of tired, unrelenting and somewhat pitiful tears, and several talks with Taylor over the phone my mind calmed and I drifted off to sleep.
"Cover the couch and roll up the rug!"

That nap gave me a renewed perspective on life, and as I sit here in bed, waiting for Theodore to wake and waiting a bit nervously to see if he throws up again, I feel ready to meet the challenge.  I just hope it ends with him, instead of moving on to a new host in this little household.  These kids sure are cute though, even when they are vomit ticking time bombs.
